Video Auxiliary

Camera Equipment

Track and dolly- It is where a camera is placed on a wheeled cart to create smooth horizontal camera movements. The advantages of this are that if you were to film a chase seen you could keep up with the pace of the scene whilst having a smooth shot. This is not beneficial for uneven surfaces as it is on a track.

Steadi-cam- It's a piece of equipment that isolates the operators movements from the camera allowing smooth shots even over uneven surfaces.

Tripod- A tripod is used to stabilise and elevate a camera. These are advantageous for smooth panning shots but are not so useful for tracking. This is also useful for low angles and high angles as you can adjust the angle whilst keeping a steady shot.
