After the battle between the Autobots and Decepticons that leveled Chicago, humanity thinks that all alien robots are a threat. So Harold Attinger, a CIA agent, establishes a unit whose sole purpose is to hunt down all of them. But it turns out that they are aided by another alien robot who is searching for Optimus Prime. Cade Yeager, a "robotics expert", buys an old truck and upon examining it, he thinks it's a Transformer. When he powers it up, he discovers it's Optimus Prime. Later, men from the unit show up looking for Optimus. He helps Yeager and his daughter Tessa escape but are pursued by the hunter. They escape and Yeager learns from technology he took from the men that a technology magnate and defense contractor named Joshua Joyce is part of what's going on, so they go to find out what's going on.

They Chose Michael Bay as the director of this film as he had directed the other films in the franchise.
This creates familiarity for the audience as they know what to expect, and that is certainly what they
got. Poor acting and explosions LITERALLY EVERYWHERE, this says all we need to know about the
attention span of those who sat through and watched it. Despite this being a film aimed at children,
who would more than likely have enjoyed the, over the top explosions, for the adults who endured the
2h 45m of utter garbage it was pure hell and by far not the best that Bay's produced.

The film as a whole was crucified by everyone, with some saying its 'Infuriatingly silly and pointless, this is the most spectacular and stupid entry in the franchise. No plot to speak of and unbelievably flat characters and dialog make this hard to sit through, even during some of the action sequences.'
